With LINA you can use Open Source tools and build on existing Open Source software to create solutions that run on all common platforms. In this way, you experience the benefits of developing on an Open Source platform while providing software solutions for the vast number of people and business who use Windows and Mac OS X. The LINA development platform is the Linux development platform-- well-established, stable, and with plenty of support for new developers. Using the LINA developer tools, you Linux application becomes a cross-platform executable that is easy for any user to install on any platform. The LINA packaging tools enable you to package your application into a single executable that includes all necessary dependencies and configuration files, while the secure LINA runtime environment guarantees that applications running on LINA will not interfere with anything else installed on the user's machine.
LINA offers new ways for Linux developers to connect with users. The LINA Exchange offers a growing repository of free Open Source applications that have been LINAfied to run on all platforms. The LINA Store offers Linux developers the opportunity to take advantage of the market for commercial software by enabling users to obtain LINAfied applications either on a pay-per-download basis or through a service and support model. Both Open Source and commercial Linux developers are invited to take advantage of the LINA Store, although an additional commercial license is required for developers who do not wish make their code available under the terms of the GPL. Developers interested in contributing to the LINA project itself can find out more on our LINA community page.
