LINA 0.71 is officially up and available for download at http://openlina.org/download.html.

We're really excited to now have stable code that is well tested on all the main platforms, Including Fedora7, Suse10.2, Ubuntu 7.04 (feisty), Windows XP, Vista and 2003, and Mac OS X Tiger on Intel.

We're testing on Suse 10.3 and Ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy) right now.

This should take care of all the compile problems that people were having.

We've made the compile a lot swifter by adding a "make prepare" directive that installs virtualization modules before the main build. We have also switched to using a Debian base for LINA, which eliminated a lot of problems that arose from bootstrapping the core OS. The Debian core will greatly expedite packaging and enhance robustness as we go forward.

We are looking forward to the next several weeks - by the next release we will have wrapped a nice little collection of Linux apps for use on LINA, and then the fun will really start.

So please, download, enjoy, and let us know what you think!

Saill
