From info at openlina.org Sat Mar 15 21:04:20 2008 From: info at openlina.org (Open LINA) Date: Sat, 15 Mar 2008 19:04:20 -0700 Subject: [Lina-dev] Announcing LINA 0.72 Beta01 Message-ID: <47DC8024.7030704@openlina.org> After three months of solid effort, we are proud to announce the first beta release of LINA 0.72. This release includes easy-to-install LINA binaries for most major operating systems. It also contains tools enabling developers to wrap Linux applications so that they can easily be installed and run with native look and feel on any operating system where LINA is installed. A great deal of work has also been put into this release to make it Open Source friendly. We have built an automated, fully scalable system for testing LINA on a great number of platforms. This will enable us to release early and release often and it will make it much easier for outside developers to contribute. It will also enable us to rapidly expand the number of operating systems we support. We plan on making a release at least once every two weeks. In that spirit, we are releasing this early. We are already aware of a few annoyances, and we would appreciate your help in finding more and bringing them to our attention. Please let us know of any problems you encounter downloading, installing and running LINA or our first demo application. We will use your feedback as we move toward our official release of LINA 0.72, fixing bugs and annoyances and adding applications as we go. Instructions for downloading and installing LINA and for testing this beta can be found on our website at http://openlina.org and in our wiki at http://openlina.org/wiki. Thank you all very much for your interest in LINA and for your patience in waiting for this release!
